If you are looking for a really fun idea for your child's next birthday, you should hold a party with a superhero theme. This is actually quite easy to do since superman capes and bat girl capes are so easy to find. There are also many games that you can choose from as well.

The fun of superhero birthday parties begins whenever you start sending out the invitations.  There are many web sites that have birthday invitation templates available.  All you have to do is select a superhero design, fill in the invitation and print it out to send.

Even more fun for parents than the party itself is decorating for the party.  Here you can use old comic magazine pages stuck to large sheets of paper to make a table cloth.  You can also spray a lot of “silly string” on the tables, or if the children are older you can allow them to spray themselves with it.  Next, take some time to dig into the Halloween decorations for any superhero stuff you may still have hanging around.  If you are feeling crafty you can make tall buildings for Superman out of Styrofoam or paint some rocks lime green for kryptonite.

Now comes the fun part: the games.  If your children are athletic, create a superheroes obstacle course.  For those who are a bit less enthusiastic, blindfold the children and tell them to use their Xray vision to figure out what you place in their hands.  You could also play a game of find the joker where you simply take and hide each individual card from a pack of playing cards around the place and give a prize to whomever finds a joker.

Since children will become a bit tired toward the end of a party, it is a good idea to have a quiet activity scheduled for then.  One thing that you could do is work on putting the photographs that you have together in the form of a comic strip.  This will be a lot of fun for children as they will get to talk about the events of the party and capture images that they can carry with them for the rest of their life.

After all of the hustle and bustle are over, you will be able to relax knowing that you will not have to throw another party for 12 months.  So, enjoy the party and cherish the memories it will bring both of you for years to come.
