Note that alcohol and nicotine may temporarily reduce feelings of stress but once they wear off, that stress may return in full force. Drink only in moderation and consider giving up smoking entirely. Not only will it help to make you a healthier person, it will help you to feel much more relaxed. Getting enough sleep each night can also ward off feelings of anxiety and stress. If you find that you cannot sleep then speak with your doctor about a sleep aid. Once you begin sleeping regularly you may find that your stress levels lower which in turn will allow you to sleep peacefully without the help of medication.
Finally, priorities must be determined. If you feel overwhelmed by stress in your workplace then take the time to prioritize and organize your schedule. This allows you to retain self-control and helps you to feel much less anxious about work related issues. Create a balanced work schedule and do not over commit yourself to any work related project. You can learn to manage stress from your job, giving you much more control over your life. Take the time to break any bad habits that you feel may be adding to your work related stress and learn a few relaxation techniques that can help to ease anxiety at the end of the day.
