Most women in the world go through life searching for Mr. Right. We fully believe that once we find him our lives will be complete. Like the line in Jerry McGuire - “You complete me”. In order to be complete however, we must first realize what it would take to make us complete. Feeling fulfilled in a relationship may take on many different meanings for different people. We need to understand what we are looking for in the perfect mate before we can recognize whether or not we have found him.

Finding the perfect mate may actually not be as difficult as you may believe. It shouldn’t be one of those things that you spend every waking hour contemplating. It should simply be a matter of finding the man that makes you happy. Before you begin your search however, it is important that you take a look at yourself. You need to believe that you are worthy of that level of love. That may sound silly but there are many women who can not find their perfect mate simply because they do not fully believe that they deserve to be loved unconditionally and completely. You need to be honest with yourself and believe that you do in fact deserve love. You also need to be compassionate about receiving the respect that you are searching for. You should be prepared to help your partner to make your relationship everything that you want it to be. This may mean sacrifices on both your parts. Incidentally being willing to sacrifice for the one you love is one indication of true love. So, to be completely ready to find your perfect mate you must do a bit of perfecting on yourself first. You have to know everything about yourself and be willing and ready to improve on anything that you feel could be standing in your way. You need to be completely clear with yourself about what you are looking for in the perfect mate. You need to outline your goals and know what steps you will need to take yourself to reach these goals. This may not be as difficult as it sounds. It could simply be a matter of relaxing in your pursuit and keeping an open mind when it comes to love. Many women become so overwhelmed with finding the perfect mate that they nit-pick every single man they meet; tearing him to shreds to see if he meets their goals. In order to truly find the perfect mate for yourself you will need to relax your view on the entire process. Have you ever heard the phrase “a watched pot never boils”? Well, a watched man will not turn into Prince Charming.

What you really should be looking for is someone who will share your interests in life. The perfect mate will likely begin with the perfect friend. If you can be friends with your man then chances are good that he will turn into the object of your search. Instead of searching for the man who will give you the life you have always dreamed of, search for the man that you enjoy being with. Look for someone who is basically a good person and who makes you smile; someone who cares about you for who you are not for what you can do for them. The man that shows compassion when needed and love for you no matter what you do is your perfect mate. He may not look like you expected and he may not have the most distinguished mannerisms but if he loves you and makes you happy then isn’t that all that really matters?
