Relationship - Marriage

If you have been married for a while, you may think that the romance in your relationship is gone forever. This is simply not true. No matter if you have been married for five days or fifty years, there are ways that you can rekindle the romance that made you fall in love in the first place. Planning a date night with your hubby is a wonderful way to find that spark again and keep your marriage fresh.

Taking your husband on a date should be a very natural thing. Although you are married already, dating can remind you of the time when you were actually just beginning in your relationship and help to rekindle those innocent feelings of love.

Planning a date night for yourself and your hubby is not difficult. You simply have to choose a night when neither of you have other commitments. You should ensure that you are both off of work or school and that you can find a babysitter for your children, preferably one who can stay late or who can keep the children overnight. Grandparents are excellent babysitters for date nights. They can bring your children to their home and keep them overnight, giving you the entire night to rekindle your romance. Once you have chosen your date, and remember to plan it far enough ahead so that all arrangements can be made, then you can discuss where you will go and what you will do.

Choose something that the two of you can enjoy together. Try to choose an activity that is not normal in your life. For instance, if you regularly go to the movies or out to dinner with your entire family, choose another activity as opposed to dinner and a movie. You could try putt-putt golf or hiking if you need something new. Think about things that you have always wanted to do together but never gotten the chance. Maybe there is a new formal restaurant that you have wanted to visit without the kids. Plan your destination together so that both of you will enjoy it.

Be sure that you are spending only what you can really afford. A date night is going to quickly turn into a worry if you are overspending. Keep in mind that the best things in life are often free. Choose activities that are inexpensive if you are concerned about your budget. While you are on your date, do not discuss your budget. Do not discuss your children, work, home life or anything except each other. Tell him how attractive he looks or simply discuss when you first began dating. The goal of your date night is to reconnect. Flirt with him and simply spend time being together and having fun.

Be sure that you continue the date when you return home. Maintaining active sexual relationships are vital for any marriage. If you can afford it and you are feeling particularly amorous, think about spending the night in a hotel as opposed to returning home, particularly if your children are being cared for overnight. Planning a date night on occasion is an important part of maintaining your relationship. Make this a weekly or at least a monthly occurrence and mix it up every time. You do not want to get into a rut and begin doing the exact same thing every time. Be creative and have fun.
