If you have ever considered beginning a housecleaning business then know that these types of home businesses are currently in high demand. If you have the desire to begin and operate a home business and love the prospect of helping others by keeping their homes or offices clean then this is the perfect home business choice. The actual startup cost for this home business will consist of any cleaning supplies and equipment that you do not already have and advertising costs. If you have most of the cleaning supplies that you need to begin, then you will simply need a little money for advertising. You can do this through your local newspaper or print up flyers and/or brochures outlining the services that you will offer and take them around to local businesses. You can, after your business has begun to grow, hire workers to help you clean. You may even increase your client base to the point that you can stay at home and simply manage the business. You will enlist clients, manage your workers and simply sit at home while your employees are doing the cleaning. This, however, is probably a little down the road. If you are just getting started it will be much more profitable to do the cleaning yourself and save hiring employees until the point that your client list becomes too much for one person to handle. You will need to keep accurate records of all the cleaning supplies and equipment that you purchase as well as gasoline expenses for traveling to and from your cleaning appointments. You may want to invest in a small truck or mini-van to use for your company car. This expense can also be tax deductible as well as your other supplies and equipment. Charging your clients may be your most difficult task. You will need to outline what services you are planning to offer and what fees you will charge for each service. You can charge a different amount of homes than you do for offices. You can also charge a monthly fee determined by how often you actually clean specific areas during the month. For instance, if you have homes that you clean once each week then you may want to charge less for these than you would for offices which you may clean two or three times each week. Do some research into cleaning services around your area and see what they are charging. This will help you to establish your fees and you can drop them low enough so that you are charging less than your competition. Just be certain that you do not drop them too low. You still want to turn a profit with your home business. That is basically all you need to know in order to begin your home cleaning service business. Be sure to do a good job at each appointment so that you will get good referrals from your clients. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising. And it might be a good idea to let them know that you do windows.
